At Berwick Animal Hospital we provide a wide range of surgical services for our patients. From routine surgical procedures, such as spaying and neutering, to more complex surgeries, we look forward to making the process easy and stress free for your and your pets.
Our staff is highly skilled in performing veterinary surgeries and will make every effort to ensure that your pet receives the very best care. Our focus on patient safety, pain management, and employing the most current surgical practices will ease your concerns regarding placing your pet under anesthesia for a procedure.
Scheduling Surgical Procedures
For every surgical procedure we conduct a pre-operative examination visit in which the doctor can discuss the procedure and options for your pet. Every species and breed is different, and we understand how scary planning for elective surgery can be. We are happy to address questions and will provide you with a full picture of the procedure, pre-anesthetic screening, pain management and patient comfort, pre and post-operative instructions, as well as an itemized estimate. Once you and your doctor together decide you are ready for your pet to undergo a procedure, we are able to schedule you based on availability.
What to Expect for Elective Surgeries
Most procedures at our hospital are day procedures, meaning your pet will be dropped off early in the morning and spend the day with us. If a procedure requires an overnight stay, we will notify you during your pre-operative visit and scheduling. This ensures we can monitor your pet closely before and after anesthesia. We offer flexible drop off and pick up times as well as overnight hospital stays to accommodate your schedule.
Post Operative Care
When your pet is ready to go home, we will review your post-operative care and medication instructions and send you home with detailed notes so you know what to expect as far as recovery. Each procedure is different, and we are more than happy to respond to any concerns you have after your pet's procedure - we are only a phone call away!
